Overview

PlugPoint ("we", "us", or "our") is an EV charging station finder app built and maintained by Fahad Tariq. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using PlugPoint you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect

• Account data – When you sign in with Google, Apple, or email, we store your display name and email address in Firebase Authentication.
• Favourites – Charging stations you save are stored in Cloud Firestore under your unique user ID.
• Location – We request device location only to show nearby chargers on the map. We do not store or transmit your location to our servers.
• Anonymous usage – If you use Guest mode, Firebase assigns an anonymous ID. No personal information is collected.
• Usage data – Standard analytics (crash reports, performance) may be collected by Firebase automatically.

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and secure your account.
• To save and sync your favourite charging stations across devices.
• To display nearby EV chargers based on your current location.
• To improve app performance and fix bugs using crash reports.

Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google) – Authentication, Firestore database, and Analytics. Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Open Charge Map API – We query the Open Charge Map public API to fetch real-world charger locations. No personal data is sent. OCM Terms.
• Google Maps – Used to open directions in your device's Maps app. Activated only when you tap "Get Directions". Google Privacy Policy.
• Sign in with Apple – If you sign in with your Apple Account, Apple provides us your name and email (or a private relay email) to create your account. Apple Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us (see below) and all associated data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

Data Security

We use Firebase Security Rules to ensure only you can read or write your own data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

Children's Privacy

PlugPoint is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights

• Access – You can view your account data in the Profile screen.
• Correction – You can update your display name in the app at any time.
• Deletion – Contact us to have your account and all data permanently deleted.
• Portability – Contact us to request a copy of the data we hold about you.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes become effective when posted to this page. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision.
